Koru Essential Oils Wild Ravensara
Notes From The Koru Oils Lab™ -
Koru's Wild Ravensara grows native to the country of Madagascar and is extracted from the leaves of the plant. Also known as “Madagascan nutmeg.” Ravensara is a member of Laureaceae family which also includes Ravintsara (Cinnamomum camphora) or “camphor tree” which is native to Japan, Taiwan, and China. Despite the similar spelling, these ARE NOT the same thing. They are different plants with very different aromatic and therapeutic properties. Ravensara oil offers an intense smell of sarsaparilla or root beer. (Thank you Karen, for validating my nose on this one!) It really does smell like root beer candy with a lovely brighter lemony and green mossy earth note.
