Koru Essential Oils Dark Patchouli
Notes From The Koru Oils Lab™ -
Our Dark Patchouli has an extremely rich scent that is mysterious and complex. It offers a deep earthy aroma with sweet floral wine-like top notes and a mellow, woody-balsamic body. It's funky...but in a good way! Often a misunderstood aroma, an authentic and well made Patchouli has a rich and deep fragrance that may not be appreciated by all but its scent but is one of the most prized oils used in blending and perfumery. We love it! If you find Patchouli to be a bit too intense for you, try blending it with amyris, bergamot, black pepper, cedarwood, clary sage, frankincense, geranium, ginger, jasmine, lavender, lemon, lemongrass, green mandarin, red mandarin, myrrh, neroli, orange, sandalwood, tangerine, or ylang ylang...you might be surprised by what you can create!
Fun fact about Patchouli is that the aromas can actually improve with age...which is not true for most oils. Generally aromas degrade with time because of a chemical process known as oxidation. Patchouli on the other hand has aromas that becomes deeper, richer, and more alluring with time. I describe a well aged Patchouli as sultry and seductive. Koru's Patchouli essential oil is distilled using metal stills which is what gives the oil its warm, dark color.
